Experience

Amazon Web Services — Redshift
Software Development Engineer · Berlin, Germany
Jul 2022 – Present

Technical lead of security and infrastructure initiatives across the Amazon Redshift organization — a petabyte-scale data warehouse service. Driving org-level projects with senior engineering stakeholders, coordinating multi-engineer teams across cross-functional dependencies.

  • Fleet-Wide OS Modernisation (2026–present) — Leading replacement of RPM-based OS patching with EC2 root volume swap for tens of thousands of instances. Re-enabled customer rollback for 99.8% of clusters. Team of 6 engineers across multiple workstreams.
  • Centralised Credentials & Security Observability (2024–present) — Architected an org-level security initiative across 20+ microservices; multi-language SDK (Java, Go) providing credential access observability. GA in all commercial AWS regions with millions of logs, zero latency impact, and 14× reduction in centralised logging costs.
  • Redshift Spectrum in Classified Partitions (2023–2024) — Led the first deployment of Redshift Spectrum in AWS classified/secure partitions. Designed new DNS and certificate architectures; learnings adopted org-wide.
  • Release Pipeline Automation (2024) — Built automated CI/CD pipeline (11 packages from scratch) reducing release cycles from days to minutes. Adopted as the standard release process for subsequent Spectrum releases.
  • Cross-Org Customer Engagement — LakeFormation/Glue (2025) — Relocated to Silicon Valley for 3 months; developed cross-account view generation and an end-to-end PoC across 10 packages, unblocking a strategic customer commitment.
  • Operational Excellence — Redesigned Redshift Spectrum availability metrics from 97% to 99.9% threshold. Resolved 2,000+ operational tickets. Trained 7 engineers to primary on-call. Mentored 3 interns (one converted to full-time).

Senior Software Engineer · São Paulo, Brazil
Apr 2021 – Mar 2022

Implemented integrations between investment banking software (Calypso/Java) and AWS messaging services at Latin America's largest investment bank. Reduced weekly downtime from hours to near-zero for critical trading workflows and achieved 74% AWS cost reduction through architecture refactoring. Taught a cloud computing course to 40+ colleagues.

Overhauled the corporate payment portal — migrating from a Java 6/Struts monolith to a cloud-native architecture on AWS. Front-end rebuilt in Angular, hosted on S3 and served via CloudFront and Route53. Backend modernised with serverless Lambda and API Gateway, deployed through a full CI/CD pipeline on CodePipeline, CodeBuild and CodeDeploy.

Cloud Robotics — Senior Thesis

Designed and implemented a cloud robotics architecture for a voice-controlled HOME robot as B.Eng. final project at UFABC. Alexa Skills interpret voice commands, trigger Lambda functions that publish MQTT messages via AWS IoT Core, consumed by a ROS Melodic application simulated in AWS RoboMaker — achieving end-to-end latency under 4 seconds on free-tier infrastructure.
